Humanitarian Law Summer School, which is an eleven-day international summer school that will take place in Bucharest, Romania between the 21st of July and 31st of July. This summer school sets as its goals promoting the values of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights through an excellent academic program consisting of a large variety of courses, seminars, workshops, case studies, moot court competitions and one final test paper, all these being held by international law personalities.

In past editions, our collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations High Commission of Refugees, resulted in partnerships that brought prestige and value to the event, as such, the impressive academic agenda lead to this summer school's receiving the European Council's award for the best Humanitarian Law School in Eastern Europe in 2007.
Since Law is Better Than War has been conceived as a gradual learning experience, we promote this year's theme as a sequel to the previous ones:

International Tribunals and International Humanitarian Law

• Protection of Civilians during Armed Conflicts
• Means and Methods of War
• Human Rights in times of Terrorism
• Persons Deprived of their Freedom in Modern Conflicts
This year's edition theme is: Human Rights in Asymmetrical Conflicts
This event aims to reunite 25 international students with a real interest in the domain along with lecturers from top Universities and prestigious guests, through an academic-focused environment that promotes the spirit of cultural diversity.
